Formed in 1987 by Bob Bagchus and Tony Brookhuis the band soon gained their seminal lineup with the addition of Eric Daniels and Martin Van Drunen. After producing The Rack and Last One On Earth, Van Drunen left (1992). The following year he recorded with Comecon on the Converging Conspiracies album (1993) and from 95-97 he toured with Bolt Thrower. Meanwhile, Asphyx recorded S/T, Embrace of Death, and God Cries sans Van Drunen.
Newly reformed by founding member Bob Bagchus he is joined again by Van Drunen and filling out the ranks are Wannes Gubbels - Bass (Soulburn) and Paul Baayens- Guitar (ex-Cremation, Thanatos, Hail of Bullets.)
