Show Notes

In historical context, Candlemass is a corner stone of modern metal. From Epicus, Doomicus, Metallicus to Tales of Creation, this early era was hugely influential in ushering in the entire modern doom genre (Cathedral, Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride, Anathema, Solitude Aeturnus) as well an having a great effect on the whole of the metal world. Our history with Candlemass isn’t as prolific, however. It’s only within the last few years that we have really began to digest to majesty of this Swedish powerhouse. Join us as we discuss the first 4 albums in Candlemass‘ career.
