Back to black metal this week, but not by the numbers black metal. Funeral Mist take the genre to a different place-- one that's a dark layered, textural nightmare of sounds and atmosphere. The mastermind behind Funeral Mist, Arioch (also known as Mortuus from Marduk) has crafted an impressive landscape of biblical brutality and sonic barbarity over his relatively short career. We'll be listening to selections from their debut EP Devilry, 2003's Salvation and 2009's Maranatha.
